Whatever your reasons, our Yoga Teacher Training Program is a transformative and life-changing experience that should not be missed!

The Schedule:

Each day begins with an intermediate/advanced yoga intensive so you can practice at your level as a teacher.
Each afternoon is dedicated to instruction, discussion, hands on teaching skills, practice teaching, feedback and more.

The Experience:

Advanced Studies Modules are, above all, opportunities for you to focus on your personal growth. Because yoga at its core is a technique for self study, you will discover that these modules will give you greater insight and clarity not only into your teaching but in in your life as well. How? Lead teachers Leslie and Erica will mentor you to look deeper into all the areas of your life. This is the beauty of this program. You are coached how to up level all aspects of your practice— be it in your teaching, in your life, the choices you make, the work you do, the relationships you cultivate and most importantly, in how you come to terms with your own Dharma.

Course Modules:

Module 1: Voice, Cueing, Habits and Authenticity

In this Module we will explore the following: how to speak with clarity and purpose, how to use active, direct and clear cueing when teaching, how to create an authentic voice in your life & in your teaching, how to discover who you actually are versus who you habitually are and how to change habits and patterns in your teaching and your life.
Module 2: Forrest Yoga Sequencing and Forrest Yoga Inspired Vinyasa Sequencing

Forrest Yoga Sequencing and Forrest Inspired Vinyasa Sequencing
Forrest Yoga has a very particular way of sequencing that helps warm up the muscles from the core out and lubricates the joints to help reduce pain and avoid injury. Both Erica and Leslie have been studying and teaching “pure” Forrest Yoga for years; and also, have developed their own ways of teaching “Vinyasa,” a popular style of yoga in New York City and surrounding communities. Over this weekend you will learn what is a true Forrest Yoga class, and also explore what can make a Forrest Inspired Vinyasa class safe and effective.

Module 3: Hands on Assists and Adjustments Part One

Ever have an adjustment or assist that magically transformed your experience in the pose?  Or have a teacher give you an assist that took you out of pain or struggle?  In this module you will learn how to adjust and assist with grace, confidence and purpose.  You will learn to touch with feeling and to help your students go deeper.
Module 4: Setting Intent and Teaching Embodiment

Part of what makes a yoga teacher really stand apart from the crowd is an ability to teach “intent.” In this weekend you will explore what that means, what kinds of intents are enticing to you to teach, and discover HOW to teach those intents in your classes. Erica and Leslie believe that embodied intents are the most powerful and effective, so in addition to learning about intent, we will also work on what it means to BE embodied, and how to help students discover why they might also like to be embodied, and finally, how to teach embodiment.

Module 5: Philosophy; Yamas and Niyamas

In this weekend you will learn about the ethical scaffolding for yoga, and explore it through lecture, writing exercises, and above all, taking AND leading asana. This method of teaching these precepts is unique and distinct. Even if you’ve taken many philosophy workshops, you’ll never have experienced one like this.

Module 6: Working with Beginners & Leveling Your Classes
