Lead a student through a class and they practice for a day–
Teach a person to practice yoga and they have a practice for life…
Are you ready to transform your life and become a yoga teacher? Or perhaps you just want to deepen your practice and learn to be your most authentic self?  Or maybe you just want to immerse yourself in yoga for a dedicated period of time as a gift to yourself. Whatever your reasons, our Yoga Teacher Training Program is a transformative and life-changing experience that should not be missed!

The Good Ground Yoga 200-hour Teacher Training program will take place over the course of 6 months, one weekend a month. Weekends will include Friday evenings and all day on Saturday and Sunday. Our training days will begin with an extended yoga intensive to give you time to study, deepen and tailor your own practice.  The afternoon and evening sessions are geared toward developing all the tools you need to grow into a truly gifted teacher.  Graduates of this course qualify for Yoga Alliance 200-hour Teacher Training Registration.

Our training is more than just learning how to recite poses and lead a yoga class– it is an opportunity to find your voice and use it to inspire your students on and off the mat and give them (and yourself) a yoga practice for life. You will learn to teach our signature style of yoga “GGY FLOW” (which combines Forrest Yoga, vinyasa flow, core strength and breath awareness) that will get your students feeling and going deeper.  Most importantly, you will gain insights into yourself and your unlimited potential to transform not only your students but yourself!

What you will learn

How to teach our signature style of “flow” safely and intelligently
Proper alignment and how to modify poses when warranted
How to teach with your voice and your hands, how to encourage and inspire people, and how to use your body language to enhance a class
How to give safe and effective hands-on adjustments
How to read bodies, physically and emotionally, as well as the energy of a group or individual
How to work with all types of students: from beginners to advanced

MODULE 4: Working with Beginners and Leveling Your Classes
February 8-10, 2019

Let’s face it… most of our classes have students of all levels and all abilities. Rarely do we have a class of students at the exact same level. The best teachers are the ones who can adapt their classes to meet all of their students’ needs in real time. And while teaching beginners and leveling your classes are two of the most rewarding things a yoga teacher can do, many teachers do not receive enough dedicated training in this area. In fact most teachers are most comfortable teaching students at their own level. The result? Teachers are often at a loss when faced with a true yoga novice or a class full of students at varrying levels. There is an art to teaching beginners and leveling your classes. Students need to fell safe and supported. Classes need to be approachable but also challenging. Students need measurable moments of success to feel encouraged and not defeated and they need an environment where they feel safe and supported. This module will give you all the tools you need to teach students of all different levels.
